A Step by Step Guide by her Makeup Artist Melissa Walsh

Rachel Brosnahan’s go-to red carpet makeup artist Melissa Walsh, whose impressive range of clients span from Zac Posen campaigns to Bazaar to Rolling Stone, and then to Debbie Harry, Carine Roitfeld and Vogue Italia, is a big fan of Hynt’s pure formulations and colors and she gave us some “hynts” how she created Rachel’s look for the Creative Arts Emmy Awards using some of her favorites from yours truly. To get Rachel’s naturally radiant but still sophisticated appearance and refined feminine look, take these pointers from Melissa on how she achieved her red carpet look. We think it looks just as fitting on the red carpet as it will for tomorrow’s lunch date!Get Rachel Brosnahan’s Heavenly Hynt Beauty Look @The Creative Arts Emmy AwardsSKIN: Great Coverage without the WeightBecause Rachel has a flawless, beautiful complexion and very fair skin, Melissa usually holds back on using too-thick liquid foundations and powders. This time, she used a combination of a lightweight tinted moisturizer and the DUET Perfecting Concealer in Fair to give the appearance of even skin tone and lightly dusted translucent loose powder on top to set.For Cheeks, Rachel is wearing the ALTO Radiant Powder Brush in Passion Pink, a soft petal pink color that adds just enough color so skin looks lit from within.EYES: Accentuating your Eye ColorRachel has striking light blue eyes so in order to accentuate, but not overwhelm the eyes, Melissa first used the PERFETTO Pressed Eye Shadow in Pink Quartz all over the lid, then a touch of STELLA Loose Powder Eye Shadow in Champagne on the brow bone, and PERFETTO Crystal Taupe in the crease.Get Rachel Brosnahan’s Heavenly Hynt Beauty Look @The Creative Arts Emmy AwardsTo define, Melissa applied the FORTE Eyeliner along the top lashes, using the blender tip to soften and blend into the lash line. After lining, she added the PERFETTO shade in Evening Wisteria over the liner and feathered on the STELLA in Frozen Pink on top, above the liner and into the inner corners of the eyes. She lightly lined under the eyes with the pressed Pink Quartz to make eyes look awake and refreshed.Melissa used our NOCTURNE Mascara to define, separate and add a look of natural fluttery volume to the lashes, brushing it through as she applied and then added individual lashes for added red carpet oomph.Get Rachel Brosnahan’s Heavenly Hynt Beauty Look @The Creative Arts Emmy AwardsLips: For lips, Melissa first applied a light layer of a soft pink lipstick and topped it with LIBRE Luxurious Lip Gloss in Pearly Rose Pink. Rachel loves this gloss for its smooth, non-sticky finish and pure formulation.Be on the lookout for variations on Rachel Brosnahan’s look to meet your skin tone and eye shade in upcoming posts from Hynt Beauty!
